We have a meal (prepared by our own "Sarge", Susan Gosnell). Tonight is my favorite (Mac and Cheese)! There is top notch lessons for the children (Luci Tate), Youth (Angie Gilmer), and a continuation in the Study of Mark by myself. To be honest, Wednesday night have gotten abit light in attendance after Christmas and we need to "Ketchup" in our attendance. So, please come and bring the family. Dinner is at 5:30pm and lessons are at 6:00pm. Looking forward to seeing you there.

A New Attempt at Something Old

For quite sometime I have had people ask me to publish a blog and to be honest I was just scared to do it. This simple reason is that I have the gift of "ticking people off". I am not sure why I have this gift. Maybe it is from God and He is trying to have me learn some lesson. I also have the gift of worry. People tell me all the time, "Joey, don't worry about it. God has everything under control." Well, to be honest. I realize that God has control but it is everyone else that I am worried about. I want to have more self confidence (people say I have alot but I really do not). I want to be like other pastor's that have the gift of growing a church and when people get angry about sitting in their seat they can say, "Hey, get here earlier." When issues do arise and they always do, I want to deal with them calmly and with great wisdom. I just get nervous and run my mouth with a high tone (I was told that my a church member.) I guess, what I want more than anything is to just "be". I used to look forward to new opportunities and challenges. Now, I just cringe and wonder when the other shoe may fall. This might just be the worries of a middle aged man with new babies in the house, with a growing church, and too many obligations. But on the other hand, maybe this is just depression talking and the need for a bit more sunshine. Well, I guess if I am going to have a blog......here it is. And if you read it, you might get more than you expected.
